Chronological lists of all the original US EPs, LPs and CDs, plus foreign issues of special interest
where Alton and/or Rabon appear
EPs, LPs AND CDs
Denatured tracks:
Simulated Stereo is marked SS.
Overdubbed is marked OD.
The titles issued short cut (SC) are followed by brackets with the detail of the missing part (i = intro; v = verse; r = refrain; s = solo or instrumental part; 1,2,3... = position in the song;
p = in part). For instance, on LP King 983 “Goin’ Back to the Blue Ridge Mountains”, (- ip, s1, v1, r2) means: minus intro in part, 1st solo, 1st verse and 2nd refrain. As many King titles
were reissued abridged, the playing time of all the original issues is mentioned in the 78 rpm Discography part 1. Many of the titles issued short cut on the 24 songs King LP’s were issued
later as short cut also.
Tracks speeded up more than 2% with regard to the 78 rpm are marked SU. Tracks speeded down more than 2% with regard to the 78 rpm are marked SD. You can refer to the playing time of the 78 rpm
in the King discography part. There is no certainly that the speeds of the 78 rpm are always the good ones: where the King LP is slower it is likely that it is actually at the righ speed.
Regarding many of the reissues, the reverberation or echo added more, bad masterisations, overuse of the denoiser and bad sound in general are not mentioned in this document because they are of
variable importance.
Due to the proliferation of "Various Artists" CDs and due to many CDs tracks purely and simply copied on LPs or others CDs, only the US issues and the foreign
issues of special interest are listed.

Note: beautiful complete Brown's Ferry Four. It is a pity there are 4 short cut tracks. About Red Foley and Merle Travis’ sessions: the same story, the same source, the same mistakes. If you know a little Foley and Travis and if you are not hard of hearing, you can compare, now, the first with the second recording of “On the Jericho Road”. Foley is singing bass on the first and Travis on the second, and not the other way round!
